![]() ![]() ![]() As we'll see, though, the design of the base and the way she's posed on one foot does present some concerns about the stability of the figure. It's a very energetic pose the way Rin is striding across the keyboard, so there are no complaints here. There are a number of illustrations that feature Rin stepping across a piano, and Tony uses this theme as the basis for his illustration. ![]() The box measures 32 by 20 by 17 cm and the package weighs just over 600 grams. Rin is a good-sized figure, and the piano base adds some weight. Two pegs on this little "step" secure Rin to the base. The blister was held together super-tight, so I'd be careful when opening the blister so that her tiny microphone doesn't accidentally go rocketing across the room! Taking a look at Rin inside the blister, you can see there is little involved in the way of set up other than to put her mic in hand and attach her to the base. Interestingly, the shots use the plain prototype base! The back panel features several shots of Rin, including one where she's displayed with Len. The other side panel shows how this illustration was realized in figure form. I rather prefer a more-mature looking Rin Kagamine, and Tony's illustration does just that! One side panel features a gorgeous full-panel shot of the Tony illustration on which the figure was based. The box prominently features the signature colors of the Kagamine twins-yellow, orange, and black. This particular figure is based on an illustration of Rin by the well-known illustrator Tony Taka ENCYCLOPEDIA #8344, and she and Len ITEM #149558 were the third and fourth Max Factory Vocaloids to get the Tony Taka treatment, following Hatsune Miku ITEM #29253 and Megurine Luka ITEM #72522. Rin's voice is generally described as "warm" and "powerful". Rin is voiced by Asami Shioda and she was released along with her twin Len Kagamine on December 27, 2007. Upping the anticipation was month after month after month of delays, so was she worth the wait? I guess you'll have to keep reading to find out.Ībout the character: Rin Kagamine is the persona associated with one of the voices in Crypton's Vocaloid voice synthesizer. Today we'll be reviewing a figure that was probably my most-anticipated figure in a couple of years, Max Factory's Rin Kagamine. ![]()
